The US dollar and Treasury yields declined modestly on Friday on the back of a disappointing reading on the housing market.
The buck cut its gains against the Japanese yen to 0.22 per cent, from the day’s high of 0.44 per cent. Meanwhile, the euro increased its rise against the greenback to 0.31 per cent.
In fixed income, the yield on the policy-sensitive two-year Treasury note was off 0.01 percentage point on the day at 1.34 per cent. It had risen as high as 1.364 per cent earlier on Friday. Yields move in the opposite direction of prices.
